Luminous pets are glowing versions of the seven pets in the Luminous Egg. Each time a Luminous Egg hatches, the pet you rolled has a 1% chance to become its Luminous form, which the wiki lists as a separate pet with its own, much higher income: a Spike goes from $15K/s to $350M/s, a Cthulhu from $3B/s to $6.5B/s. The egg is sold for Robux and does not spawn in biome nests.
All Luminous pets and their incomes
Base incomes from the Steal an Egg Wiki (rblxguide.com mirror, synced October 24, 2026). “Times normal” is the Luminous income divided by the normal pet’s income.
| Normal pet | Rarity | Base $/s | Luminous form | Rarity | Base $/s | Times normal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spike | Legendary | $15K | Luminous Spike | Secret | $350M | 23,333x |
| Spirit Manta | Mythic | $75K | Luminous Spirit Manta | Secret | $500M | 6,667x |
| Riptide Octopus | Cosmic | $1.5M | Depths Riptide Octopus | Cosmic | $430M | 287x |
| Abyss Shark | Cosmic | $2.5M | Luminous Abyss Shark | Secret | $600M | 240x |
| Electric Eel | Secret | $200M | Luminous Electric Eel | Eternal | $1.75B | 8.75x |
| Terra Snapper | Eternal | $750M | Luminous Terra Snapper | Eternal | $2.5B | 3.3x |
| Cthulhu | Divine | $3B | Luminous Cthulhu | Divine | $6.5B | 2.2x |
Two things follow from the table.
The Luminous forms are bunched together. The normal pets range from $15K to $3B, a 200,000x spread. The Luminous forms range from $350M to $6.5B, under 19x. So the reroll is worth the most on the weakest pull: a Luminous Spike, the cheapest one, still out-earns every normal pet in the egg except the Terra Snapper and Cthulhu.
Luminous is not a flat 10x. Some guides (allthings.how, holdtoreset.com) list “Luminous” as a 10x mutation. None of the seven pairs above is 10x; the multiple runs from 2.2x to 23,333x. The rarity usually moves up too (Legendary to Secret, Secret to Eternal), which a mutation would not do. allthings.how describes the reroll as promoting the pet one rarity tier, which fits the wiki data better than a multiplier.
There is one place a “10x” could come from. allthings.how quotes in-game readings of about $296M/s for an Electric Eel and about $3.2B/s for a Luminous Electric Eel from the same egg, roughly 10.8x. Those are card values that include each copy’s weight and any mutation, so one pair of readings does not establish a rule. For income maths, use the Luminous pet’s own base income from the table. The mutation calculator keeps “Luminous 10x” in its list only for players who want to compare, and marks it disputed.
How to get Luminous pets
- Buy a Luminous Egg from the Robux store. It replaced the Monster Egg in Update 4 (Angels vs Demons). The wiki says limited eggs like this do not spawn in regular nests; it also mentions special events such as Admin Abuse as a source.
- Hatch it. First the egg rolls one of the seven normal pets. Then a separate 1% roll decides whether that pet becomes Luminous. A successful reroll shows a Luminous tag on the pet’s name; no tag means it did not fire.
- There is no way to reroll a pet you already own. Every source describes the reroll as part of hatching only.
The Luminous Electric Eel, Terra Snapper and Cthulhu are the ones most players chase, but the odds of rolling each normal pet first are not published. The wiki only says Cthulhu’s own odds are “necessarily below 1%” per hatch for the Luminous version.
Prices and what your Robux buys
allthings.how lists these Luminous Egg bundles (updated September 13, 2026):
| Bundle | Robux | Per egg | Chance of at least one Luminous |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 egg | 80 | 80 | 1.0% |
| 3 eggs | 200 | about 67 | 3.0% |
| 10 eggs | 640 | 64 | 9.6% |
| 50 eggs | 2,800 | 56 | 39.5% |
| 100 eggs (2 x 50) | 5,600 | 56 | 63.4% |
| 300 eggs (6 x 50) | 16,800 | 56 | 95.1% |
The chance column is 1 - 0.99^N, which assumes each hatch is an independent 1% roll, as the wiki describes. On average one Luminous pet takes 100 hatches, but the spread is wide: about 37% of players who buy 100 eggs still get none.
A reseller page lists different prices (99, 249, 799 and 3,499 Robux for 1, 3, 10 and 50). Those match the community-reported prices of the Robux Halloween Egg exactly, so they may be mixed up, or the Luminous Egg may have been repriced. The egg is also described as limited-time with no confirmed end date. Check the in-game store before buying.
Compare with the free routes: the Cursed Monarch ($12.5B/s, Halloween fusion) and Mecha Scrambler ($7.5B/s, 0.5% per Dr. Scramble defeat) both out-earn every Luminous pet at base. See best pets.
What a Luminous pet earns at higher weight
Weight multiplies on top of base income, the same as for any pet. The wiki’s Luminous Cthulhu page lists a base weight of 13,000 kg and these estimates (formula marked beta):
| Luminous Cthulhu | Normal weight | 10x weight | 100x weight | 200x weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No mutation | $6.5B/s | $26.9B/s | $111B/s | $154B/s |
| Rainbow (3.5x) | $22.8B/s | $94.1B/s | $389B/s | $539B/s |
Plug any other Luminous pet into the pet compare tool to see it next to what you have now.
Luminous vs. Zombified and Skeletal
Three Robux eggs work the same way: hatch a normal pet, then a small chance turns it into a stronger separate version.
| Egg | Reroll version | Reroll chance | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luminous Egg | Luminous | 1% (wiki) | Cthulhu $3B to $6.5B |
| Halloween Egg (Robux) | Zombified | 1% (community guides) | Bone Emperor $7.5B to $14B |
| Extinction Egg | Skeletal | “small chance”, no number | Sabertooth $5B to $9B |
The Monster Egg had the same idea with its Mecha versions (Dreadscale $2B to Mecha Dreadscale $4B), chance not documented.
What we could not confirm
- The odds of each normal pet in the Luminous Egg.
- Whether the Luminous Egg is still in the store as of November 4, 2026, and at which price.
- Whether Luminous is ever applied as a mutation to pets outside the Luminous Egg. We found no example.
