Steal An Egg has eight mutations with well-documented multipliers, from Silver (1.2x) to Rainbow (3.5x), plus several newer event mutations whose values are only reported by one source. Only three of them, Silver, Golden and Rainbow, can roll on a normal hatch; the rest come from events, consumables or the Sakura Incubator.
All mutations at a glance
Values in the “Current” column are the ones agreed by the wiki mirror (rblxguide, synced October 24, 2026), allthings.how (September 16) and holdtoreset.com (October 24). The “Older” column is what August 2026 guides printed.
| Mutation | Current | Older | How to get it | Odds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | 1.2x | 1.25x | Normal hatch roll | 6 in 100 |
| Bloom | 1.25x | 1.5x | Sakura Incubator | Most common incubator result (one older guide: 97.5%) |
| Golden | 2.5x | 2x | Normal hatch roll | 4 in 100 |
| Spirit Bloom | 2.5x | 3x | Sakura Incubator | 2.5% (older guides) or 5%, 10% fully charged (allthings.how) |
| Fractured | 2.75x | - | Mutation Consumable from the Boss Shop (400 Boss Tokens per allthings.how), used on an egg on your farm | 10% per consumable |
| Scrambled | 2.75x | - | Dr. Scramble’s Experiment Shop, paid with Samples | 10% per use |
| Parasite | 3x | - | Parasite Egg from Monster Chests (Hungry Monster event) | Not published |
| Rainbow | 3.5x | 2.5x | Normal hatch roll; also Rainbow Eggs in a monster’s nest after night | 1 in 100 |
Event mutations with thinner sourcing:
| Mutation | Reported value | How to get it | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luminous | 10x (allthings.how, holdtoreset) | Luminous Egg, 1% per hatch | Disputed, see below |
| Enchanted | 2.75x (holdtoreset only) | Trade butterflies at the Butterfly Bloom event (Update 7) | The wiki says the consumable has a 100% success chance but gives no multiplier |
| Nitro | 2.75x (holdtoreset only) | Racing Shop, paid with Nitro Race Trophies (Update 8) | No multiplier on the wiki |
| Spectral | 2.75x (community reports), “TBC” (holdtoreset) | Phantom Express in the Halloween Dimension, 500 Souls per attempt | 25% success chance reported; an older infographic said 1,000 Souls |
| Monstrous | Unknown | Named in the Update 2 notes as a possible Monster Chest reward | No multiplier found anywhere |
Why the numbers disagree
Two things are going on.
First, the values changed. Every guide from August 2026 (techwiser on August 27, beebom) has the same five-mutation set: Silver 1.25x, Bloom 1.5x, Golden 2x, Rainbow 2.5x, Spirit Bloom 3x. Every guide we found from mid-September onward has Silver 1.2x, Bloom 1.25x, Golden 2.5x, Rainbow 3.5x, Spirit Bloom 2.5x. That pattern looks like a rebalance (Rainbow and Golden up, the Sakura mutations down) rather than random error, but no patch note confirms it. The developers have not published an official multiplier sheet.
Second, Luminous is probably not a mutation in the normal sense. The wiki lists Luminous Reroll pets as separate species with their own base income. A normal Spike makes $15K/s and a Luminous Spike makes $350M/s. A normal Cthulhu makes $3B/s and a Luminous Cthulhu $6.5B/s. Neither gap is 10x. Until someone posts in-game cards showing the same pet before and after, treat “Luminous 10x” as unconfirmed and use the listed species income instead. The pets list has those values.
The only reliable check is your own pet card. If the card’s $/s divided by the base income on the pet index gives a clean 3.5 for a normal-weight Rainbow, you are on the current values.
How each mutation is obtained
Silver, Golden and Rainbow (normal hatching)
These roll when an egg hatches. The wiki lists roll weights of 6, 4 and 1 out of 100, which means 89% of hatches have no color mutation. You cannot raise these odds yourself outside of Admin Abuse sessions, where guides report server-wide mutation boosts (exact values never published).
Rainbow also has a second source: allthings.how reports Rainbow Eggs spawning in a monster’s nest after night ends.
One older guide (techwiser) says the Fuse Machine can also produce these mutations when you fuse three of the same pet, and that pets with above-base stats have a better chance. It also warns that a fused pet is not guaranteed to keep any input mutation.
Bloom and Spirit Bloom (Sakura Incubator)
The Sakura Incubator arrived with Update 1 (Cherry Blossom). techwiser says you unlock it by submitting a Crane, and it sits in the Cherry Blossom biome. You charge it with Sakura Crystals and put a pet inside. Most results are Bloom; Spirit Bloom is the rare roll. allthings.how says a fully charged incubator doubles the Spirit Bloom chance from 5% to 10%.
allthings.how lists both as no longer available. If your server still has the incubator, use your highest-income pet with the best weight, because the multiplier applies to the whole pet.
Fractured (Rift bosses)
Rifts open every 30 minutes. Beating the Overlord inside gives Boss Tokens, which buy a Mutation Consumable in the Boss Shop. You apply it to an egg on your farm and it has a 10% chance to land. A failed attempt uses up the item, so expect around ten consumables per success on average.
Scrambled (Dr. Scramble)
Dr. Scramble’s drones invade every 30 minutes and drop Samples. The Experiment Shop sells the Scrambled Mutation, with a 10% success chance per the wiki mirror. The wiki does not say clearly whether it uses the same consumable flow as Fractured.
Parasite (Hungry Monster)
During the Hungry Monster event (reported as August 29 to September 5, 2026), you fed five parasite-infected eggs to the monster to earn a Monster Chest. Guides list the chest at 1.5% for the rare egg, which most guides call the Monstrous Egg and one calls the Parasite Egg. The event is over.
Do mutations stack?
The formula on the wiki is base x mutation x size, and size and mutation do multiply together. Whether two color mutations stack is less clear:
- techwiser (August) shows a Beluga Whale with Golden and Silver at once, and says incubator mutations can be added to a pet that already has a hatch mutation.
- holdtoreset (October 24) says multiple mutations add, so Golden (+150%) and Rainbow (+250%) give x5, not x8.75.
- The wiki mirror only gives single-mutation examples.
The income calculator has a second-mutation slot with both rules so you can compare.
Is a mutation worth chasing?
Usually weight matters more. A pet at 10x its base weight earns about 4.14x, more than a normal-weight Rainbow. At 125x weight the size factor is about 19.6x. So when a nest resets, grab the biggest egg first. Spend consumables (Fractured, Scrambled, Spectral) only on your best pet, since a 10% or 25% roll on a weak pet wastes the attempt.
